The term "sock hop" came about when dancers had to remove their shoes and dance in socks or stockings to protect the varnished floor of the gymnasium and to get better slides in dance forms like the twist, mashed potatoes, hand jive and others. Sock hop era started and became popular in the 1950's. We've decided to bring it back for one night in October!
Join us on Friday, October 19 from 7:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. During that time we will have DJ Kenny Z here spinning records to play songs from the 50's, 60's and more. The Sock Hop is open to adults of all ages. Dancers don't need a partner as this allows folks to have fun in a group setting. There will be a cash bar and light snacks. Donations appreciated to cover DJ and food. No need to sign up!!!
