The Importance of Mental Exercise!
There are a great number of older people who experience a loss of cognitive skills and abilities to different degrees. Just as your body needs physical exercise to keep fit, the brain needs mental exercise to stay active and alive. Mental exercise stimulates the brain, providing long-lasting positive effects regarding thinking, reasoning skills and memory. A fun way to get your dose of mental exercise is through playing games. Foot Clinic Update
Wednesday, October 4th from 9:00 to 12:30 p.m.
George Daniels is our new Foot Care Clinic RN. He will be at TGP on the first Thursday of every month. Cost is $40 for a half hour appointment paid to him that day in cash or by check. You will need to bring a current list of medications and a short medical history the first time you meet him. Be sure to sign up with the receptionist by calling 608-868-3500. Masks are required.
Chair Massage:
Thursdays, September 12th and 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
Our massage therapist, Alicia Jenski, LMT, is offering chair massages twice a month. You can sign up for 20 or 40 minutes. Cost is $10 for 20 minutes and $20 for 40 minutes. Please call 608-868-3500 to register.
Chair Yoga: Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 9:00. A light yoga class is offered in the dining room. A more challenging class is offered in the lower level.
EXERCISE CLASSES
Stretching Class: Thursdays at 10:45
Kate O'Brien, certified Health and Wellness Coach, teaches proper stretching techniques. This includes lying, sitting and standing stretches that will be done in a sequence that stretches all your muscles, large and small. Bring your mat and a water bottle. Cost is $3.00 per person. No registration is required.
Zumba Gold: Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Join Lynnette Brown for Zumba Gold! Punch cards available either online or at class time. 8 week sessions are $56 or a 10 class punch card is available for $80.00. Tai Chi: Sue Whitford is the instructor for these classes. They meet every Monday at 9:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church 409 E. Court St. The cost is $3.00 per session. First class free.
Strong Women: Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15 a.m. Classes run for 12 weeks and cost $36.
Strong Bodies: Classes are held every Tuesday and Fridays at 10:45 a.m. Classes run for 10 weeks and cost $35.
Dance Aerobics: Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00. This is a low impact class. NO experience required! Each class is $3.00. First class free.
EXERCISE ROOM-Our exercise room is open during regular business hours 8am-4pm Monday - Friday
