The Importance of Mental Exercise!

There are a great number of older people who experience a loss of cognitive skills and abilities to different degrees. Just as your body needs physical exercise to keep fit, the brain needs mental exercise to stay active and alive. Mental exercise stimulates the brain, providing long-lasting positive effects regarding thinking, reasoning skills and memory. A fun way to get your dose of mental exercise is through playing games. Maybe check out the games online. We are all looking forward to the day when our doors can be opened wide and welcome you all back to TGP.

Foot Clinic Update: George Daniels is our new Foot Care Clinic RN. He will at TGP on the first Tuesday and Thursday of every month.  Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. with the last appointment at 3:00 p.m. Cost is $40 for a half hour appointment paid to him that day in cash or by check. You will need to bring a current list of medications and a short medical history the first time you meet him. Be sure to sign up with the receptionist by calling
608-868-3500. Masks are required.

Massage Therapist: Our Massage Therapist, Alicia Jenski, LMT, is offering chair massages twice a month. She will be here on Thursday, June 10 & 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. You can sign up for 20 minutes or 40 minutes. Call 608-868-3500 to make appointment.

Chair Yoga:
Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 9:00

Stretching Class: Every Friday at 10:45. Bring your mat and a water bottle. Cost is $3.00 per person.

Zumba Gold: Jackie will be starting in person classes on Wednesday, June 2 at 9:00 a.m. Zoom classes will be going on at the same time for those of you not quite ready to come in person. Masks are optional. Punch cards available either online or at class time. A five punch card is $22.50 or a 10 punch card is $45.00. Please sign up at under classes or email Jackie at Zumba login remains the same.

Tai Chi: Sue Whitford is the instructor for these classes. They meet every Monday at 10:00. The cost is $3.00 per session. First class free.

Strong Women: Next session starts June 1. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15 a.m. Classes run for 12 weeks and cost $36.

Dance Aerobics: Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00. This is a low impact class. NO experience required! Each class is $3.00. First class free.

EXERCISE ROOM-Our exercise room will be open for two people at a time for up to 45 minutes. You will need to call 608-868-3500 to reserve your time. Available times begin at 9:00 with last reservation at 3:00. You will need to wear a mask coming into the building, but not while exercising. After each person is done we will disinfect the room so it is ready for the next person.
